Today is the first official day of the CAL for Sooey the Pig. I am so excited to do this crochet along with you! This week we are making the Head, Ears, Snout, and Tail. Come over to Creative Snugglies Designs Facebook Community for all the fun with this CAL.

Today you will only need a G hook, the main color of your pig (head) and whatever color you want for the ears, snout, and tail in Worsted Weight Size 4 yarn, safety eyes if using them, polyfil, yarn needle, and stitch markers. I use the stitch markers to know where my first stitch is in the round since I do not join my rounds.
Pattern Instructions
Head – Work in Continuous Rounds
Rnd 1: Create MC; 6 SC in MC. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12 sts)
Rnd 3: *SC in the next st; 2 SC in the next st.* Repeat around. (18 sts)
Rnd 4: *SC in the next 2 sts; 2 SC in the next st.* Repeat around. (24 sts)
Rnd 5: *SC in the next 3 sts; 2 SC in the next st.* Repeat around. (30 sts)
Rnd 6: *SC in the next 4 sts; 2 SC in the next st.* Repeat around. (36 sts)
Rnds 7-12: SC in each st around. (36 sts) (6 total rounds)
****INSERT SAFETY EYES BETWEEN ROUNDS 7 AND 8 WITH 4 STS BETWEEN EACH EYE.
Rnd 13: *SC in the next 4 sts; sc2tog.* Repeat around. (30 sts)
****START STUFFING HEAD.****
Rnd 14: *SC in the next 3 sts; sc2tog.* Repeat around. (24 sts)
Rnd 15: *SC in the next 2 sts; sc2tog.* Repeat around. (18 sts)
Rnd 16: *SC in the next st; sc2tog.* Repeat around. (12 sts)
****FINISH STUFFING.****
Rnd 17: Sc2tog around. (6 sts)
Sl st to the next st. FO with a 4” tail.
Weave in and out of the front loops of the last round to close the hole, and hide the tail.
Snout: Worked in Continuous Rounds
Rnd 1: Create MC; 6 SC in MC. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st around. (12 sts)
Rnd 3: *SC in the next st; 2 SC in the next st.* Repeat around. (18 sts)
Rnds 4-7: SC in each st around. (18 sts) (4 total rounds)
Sl st to the next st to FO with a 6” tail for sewing.
****STUFF SNOUT.****
Ears: Make 2
R 1: Ch 2; SC in the 2nd ch from the hook. (1 st)
R 2: Ch 1; turn; 2 SC in that same st. (2 sts)
R 3: Ch 1; turn; 2 SC in the first st; 2 SC in the next st. (4 sts)
R 4: Ch 1; turn; SC in the first st and in each st across. (4 sts)
R 5: Ch 1; turn; 2 SC in the first st; SC in each of the next 2 sts; 2 SC in the last st. (6 sts)
R 6: Ch 1; turn; SC in the first st and in each st across. (6 sts)
R 7: Ch 1; turn; 2 SC in the first st; SC in each of the next 4 sts; 2 SC in the last st. (8 sts)
R 8: Ch 1; turn; SC in the first st and in each st across. (8 sts)
R 9: Ch 1; turn; 2 SC in the first st; SC in each of the next 6 sts; 2 SC in the last st. (10 sts)
R 10: Ch 1; turn; SC in the first st and in each st across. (10 sts)
FO with 6” tail. Weave in the beginning tail.
Tail:
Ch 20; 3 SC in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each ch across. FO with 6” tail.
