Design Idea

This silly pig is part of my Farm Animal series that I am releasing little at a time this year. It is the 3rd farm animal pattern so far. This is a beginner-friendly pattern. This pattern uses simple, basic stitches – single crochet, slip stitch, and single crochet decrease.

Sooey the Pig crochet pattern is an easy crochet pattern to follow. It has simple step-by-step instructions when you purchase the PDF version with photo tutorials along the way. Plus, when you join the CAL in the Facebook Group each week, I am there to answer any questions. I will be going live each week in the Facebook Group to answer any questions you may have. You will feel proud when you finish making this adorable pig, and give it to your child to play with.

What Materials You Will Need

Any worsted weight size 4 yarn of your choice in any colors you want about 260-300 yards total. In my pattern example, I used all pink. It could be any yarn you have in your stash you want to use up.

You will also need a G/6 4.0 crochet hook, scissors, and stuffing of your choice. You will also need a yarn needle to sew parts together and weave in your ends.

Stitch markers come in very handy when crocheting amigurumi since we don’t join our rounds throughout most of the pattern. I use my stitch markers to know where I began my round. Also, if I repeat certain amount of stitches for several rounds, I use the stitch markers to count my rounds.

Safety eyes are optional in this pattern because if you are making this for children under 3, it is best to embroider the eyes on instead of using safety eyes.
